Labour and birth support can look like:
Customized education and resource sharing
Helping to prepare questions for your healthcare provider
Helping to clearly define goals and paths to individual success
Aiding with problem solving and decision making
Offering suggestions for physical comfort and pain management during pregnancy, labour, and birth
Discussing strategies for building self-advocacy into your care plan
Ensuring continuity of support throughout your pregnancy, birth, and immediate postpartum period
Validating emotions, answering questions, and centring your experiences
Fees
Labour and birth support services are offered on a sliding scale as described in the packages below.
Early Labour Support Package
$500 - $1000
Strategies for Success: a goal-based birth planning session
Your choice of other prenatal support sessions, such as Comfort Measures for Labour, Preparing for Postpartum, Preparing for Lactation, Preparing for Induction, Preparing for Cesarean, and general check-ins
Unlimited text/email/phone support until 4 weeks postpartum
24/7 on-call period from 37 weeks onward
Primary doula (back-up doula if desired)
Continuous support from early labour until you head to the hospital or the midwife arrives, with the option to extend to full birth support at any time
At least one postpartum support visit
Birth Support Package
$750 - $1500
